I love peonies like many people do. But I have not had a lot of experience in painting flowers. Moreover peonies look very complicated.
One week ago my husband gifted me beautiful light-pink peonies in a cute jar and I couldn't resist to paint them. This was my first attempt ever to paint peonies.
I started with oil paints first, then painted them with pastel and at the end with watercolor. Watercolor was the hardest one. Because I did not want to create botanical illustration , I tried to do it looser. My results are:
By the way it's very difficult to take photo of oil painting. Colors on the photo look different:(.
Work with pastel is my favorite, what about you? What do you like more?
